Every year, the Sea Festival takes place at the end of July in the seaport of Klaipėda. It is the largest summer festival not only in Klaipėda, but in the whole of the country. More than half-a-million people from Lithuania and nearby countries come to this three-day festival and it’s here where you can listen to concerts, attend exhibitions, watch colourful parades and even participate in them yourself. The Sea Festival, which is also called Sea Day and which enabled seamanship and sea professions to become more popular, was first held on 12th August 1934.
